Help, there is no main menu module position in a gavick pro joomla template. Where did the “Mainmenu” module position go?
"Arggh why can’t I publish my module to the Main Menu position in My Gavick Pro template in Joomla?” Ha, I thought the same thing, theres a bit of a trick to it.
Ok. Gavick pro templates have the module position “Mainmenu” but you can’t publish a module it. It’s hidden from the user. If you go to the module manager and create a menu module you will see the main menu position doesn’t appear, the position just doesn't show in the list.
Th trick is that you have to set the template to load your main menu in the mainmenu position via the template in the template manager. “Hah! Andrew”; you say; "I already tried that". Well by default some of the Gavick pro menus use the “aside” menu.
Yes can tell if you Gavick pro uses the aside menu (also called a hamburger menu) because of the hamburger icon on the top right. To change to a classic menu just log in to your Joomla administrator backend and click on the menu tabs after you enter your Gavick pro joomla template via template manage. Here you can change the menu to “Classic”
This behaviour may be exhibited on some of the following Templates, even if this is not the case, in Genera Gavick pro templates require the main menu publishing control via the template in the Joomla backend template manager:
