So you are busy customizing your new Prestashop 1.6 and upload a 24 bit png of your beautifully logo with a transparent background expecting it to look swish on the frontage, but it doesn’t. I appears on the homepage with a white background. That makes no sense! Right? Here is what it happens and how to fix it so Prestashop 1.6x displays your png/gif logo correctly with transparency.

I hope I can save you some pain if you are trying to edit/customise your images in Prestashop and find that the don’t change on the front page.

Has this happened to you? You edit the images in the Theme configuration module or under your preferences>theme and in the back office they are correct, but in the frontage they look like the default. So you browse for the images again and re-upload them but although the are correct in the back office they just won’t update on the prestashop frontage. What’s wrong? We’ll I’ll tell you.

Changing the homepage/frontpage menu in Prestashop 1.6 is not obvious especially to those who are used to other systems. Prestashop 1.6 like many other systems uses modules placed in various positions on your prestashop online shop. These positions are called hooks, but you don’t need to know that, you just need to know how to find the “Top Horizontal Menu” module so you can edit/customize/change it to suite you needs.
