Changing the homepage/frontpage menu in Prestashop 1.6 is not obvious especially to those who are used to other systems. Prestashop 1.6 like many other systems uses modules placed in various positions on your prestashop online shop. These positions are called hooks, but you don’t need to know that, you just need to know how to find the “Top Horizontal Menu” module so you can edit/customize/change it to suite you needs. Here’s how:
Finding and editing the “Top Horizontal Menu” module (see screenshot above):
1) Login to the Prestashop 1.6 administrator back office and click on the Modules link on the left hand side (sorry the screenshot is half Spanish, just look for the word “Modules”).
2) Click in the search field (denoted with the magnifying glass icon) and search for “menu” as shown.
3) You will see the “Top Horizontal Menu” module appear. Click the configure button on the right (not shown in the screenshot).
Customising the menu:
All you need to do now is add elements from the available items pane into the selected items pane and move them up and down to suit your ordering requirements. This will change how the main menu appears on the the homepage/frontpage.
